The BBC iPlayer on the iPhone

The BBC iPlayer is now available on the iphone. Users can access the iplayer on the BBC website and watch recent BBC programmes for free. The BBC iPlayer has proved massively successful since its launch, but has been previously unavailable to iPhone users.
The main draw-back is that iphone users will only be able to access the iplayer in Wi-Fi enabled areas. As many have pointed out, most Wi-Fi enabled locations like homes and offices already have devices more suited to watching video content e.g. PCs or TVs, whilst non Wi-Fi enabled places, such as buses or trains, would tend to be the places where IPhone users would be most likely to want to access the iPlayer on the move.
