 Augmented Reality on the iPhone Layar is an augmented reality app which lets you view the world around you (via the camera) with various digital overlays depending on different layers you select. It's only available for the 3GS as it needs a compass to work, and also uses the camera function to display your surroundings on a grid. Layar 3.0 includes 3D objects, point of interest story-telling and guided tours. The above image comes from the Beatles Tour in London, which takes you to 42 locations in the city. Layar is also available on Android. Sky Seige is another great example of an IPhone augmented reality app.
