The new 3G version of the iPhone could be unveiled at the Apple Worldwide Developers' Conference in San Francisco in June.
Will the 3G iPhone be any cheaper than its forerunner? It is expected that a basic version of the 3G iPhone in the US will cost $399 (£200) and a 16GB 3G iPhone will be priced at $499. It is hoped that network partner AT&T will heavily subsidise the phones, reducing the price by $200 so the basic 3G iPhone would be cheap at $199.
